Artist Don Crouse attended the Philadelphia College of Art, studying Advertising and Design. He then served as Plane Captain and Air Crew in Anti-Submarine Squadron VS-28, aboard the USS WASP. He then served an additional 7 years in the Virginia Army National Guard Recon 116th infantry. After an honorable discharge from the military, he became an interior designer for Marriott Hotels.

Don's interest in drawing and the military led him to begin illustrating aircrafts. He eventually became the official artist for the National Warplane Museum and some of his work was displayed in the Boeing Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington.

Living in the Middleburg, Virginia area for many years, Don's love of animals led him to commissioned portraits of pets, horses, and eventually included homes and classic automobiles. He has been featured in Elan Magazine and Loudoun Magazine; and has had four covers of the Chronicle of the Horse.
